Charities Within Reach (CWR) was started in November 2006 to help local charities around the world.

CWR's goal is to support local charities in the countries that Adventures Within Reach (AWR) offers for adventure travel by providing travelers with opportunities to donate time, goods, and money to groups who have demonstrated a need.

There is a CWR board of directors, who meet regularly. They discern progress by

• evaluating experiences travelers have
• reviewing the use of donated articles and supplies
• holding the charity accountable for the money donated
